While announcing the 200-megapixel Redmi Note 12 Pro+ last year, Redmi has been generous with the camera. DxOMark experts have now released a comprehensive camera test of the model, and it looks like a real failure: with 74th place and 113 points, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is not only compatible with all current and last year’s flagships, but also Honor 70. Nothing Phone (1) and OnePlus Even to mid-range models like the Nord 2T 5G.

Among the pros, experts noted good exposure when shooting video, wide dynamic range and adequate white balance in low light, quite good detail in bright light, low noise in bright light, accurate and fast autofocus.

But there are more disadvantages. These are distortions and chromatic aberrations in photos taken with an ultra-wide-angle lens, various artifacts when taking photos indoors, slow autofocus when taking photos in high-contrast scenes, indoors and in low light. Stabilization isn’t bad when shooting video, but human movement (walking) is still noticeable.

Judging by the reviews, it turns out that just one 200-megapixel sensor is not enough: you need a good stabilization system, reliable autofocus and, of course, high-quality optics. And in general this is just another example of the fact that megapixels are not the deciding factor at all when shooting stills and videos.
