Oppo launched the Reno 9 Pro in China late last year, and if anything, the smartphone has a beautiful design. As the brand’s premium offering, the Reno smartphone is well worth its money, with the base model starting at around $488. With all that said, it’s no secret that good products are often copied, and it looks like the Reno 9 Pro will not be an exception, as it looks like DOOV is getting ready to launch a smartphone with a strikingly similar design.
Dubbed DOOV X9, DOOV’s new smartphone has been released in China Telecom’s product library and we can’t help but notice its resemblance to the Oppo Reno 9 Pro. Mind you, its specs are far from impressive compared to Oppo’s smartphone, but we can’t complain as it’s only expected to cost 2,000 yuan. For those who don’t know, DOOV (Duowei Technology Co., Ltd) is an electronics manufacturer in China that has not yet entered the global market. Even in China, the company is not widely known or mainstream.
China Telecom offers the DOOV X9 in Ink Gray and Vivid Green. If you look at its design, you will see a camera module similar to the Reno 9 Pro. However, the smartphone has a less glossy design, possibly with a plastic back. Its cameras are also fascinating, with a 13 MP main sensor and a 0.3 MP secondary lens. The smartphone has a 6.5-inch flat screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels compared to the 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display of the Reno 9 Pro with a resolution of 2412×1080 pixels (FHD+).
DOOV X9 is equipped with an entry-level UNISOC T760 processor and 5000 mAh battery (Oppo Reno 9 Pro has Dimensity 8100-Max chipset and 4500 mAh battery). Overall, in terms of features and performance, the DOOV X9 smartphone cannot be compared to the Oppo product. However, it can be a reasonable budget option for those looking for a good smartphone.
