OnePlus has announced that it has launched a new Lava Red special edition of the popular OnePlus Ace 2. The new device will be launched on April 17 at 19:00 local time and will be available for purchase in China. One of the highlights of the new Lava Red variant is the vegan leather on the back for a unique and stylish look. It will only be available in a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration and it is not yet clear if it will cost the same as the regular variant priced at 3,499 yuan ($508).

The OnePlus Ace 2 features a large 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels, which can be switched between 120Hz, 90Hz, 60Hz, 45Hz or 40Hz refresh rates depending on the usage scenario. The device is powered by an octa-core 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 mobile platform with an Adreno 730 GPU paired with 12 or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13 out of the box. The phone has a triple primary camera that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
