Asus has introduced its new gaming smartphones, the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate. As with the previous generation, the two versions are only slightly different and all their core components are the same. Both smartphones use SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 memory and 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2448×1080 pixels, a sensor with a frequency of 720 Hz, and the display frame rate is 165 Hz.

The batteries are the same as for smartphones: with a 65-watt charge and a 10-watt reverse charge, they have a capacity of 6000 mAh. Cameras are no different. The main sensor is pretty good: Sony IMX766 with 50 MP resolution. It also has a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP front camera.

And now to the differences. For one, the older version has a two-inch OLED display on the back, while the younger version only has a logo. More important is the cooling system. ROG Phone 7 Ultimate features a unique AeroActive element. In fact, it is nothing more than a cover on the back of the case that opens to let more cold air into the smartphone. It only turns on when the AeroActive Cooler 7 brand active cooler is connected, but it comes with the device. As a result, such a system allows the smartphone to remain quite cool even under maximum load. By the way, the AeroActive Cooler 7 accessory is not only a fan, but also a subwoofer.

But despite this, the internal cooling system, which is the same in both models, has been significantly improved. Asus calls it GameCool7. It consists of a boron nitride layer, two graphite layers with a total area of ​​16,000 mm, and an evaporation chamber. They want 1,000 euros for the base version of the Asus novelty, and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will cost 1,400 euros. The AeroActive Cooler 7 accessory can also be purchased for 110 euros.
