Xiaomi is constantly expanding its smartphone lineup. Considering the wide range of users, the company offers models in different price categories. In parallel, the Chinese technology giant recently introduced the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and now counts the days for the launch of the flagship Xiaomi 13 Ultra. CEO and founder Lei Jun recently revealed in a Weibo post a camera grip accessory that can make the device look like a directly controlled camera.
A teaser recently released by the company with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which is preparing to make waves in the smartphone market with its advanced camera system, proposes an innovative accessory that can redefine smartphone photography. The camera grip, described in a post on Weibo by Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun, could allow users to experience the Xiaomi 13 Ultra as a more ergonomic alternative to the point-and-shoot camera.
Xiaomi is constantly pushing the boundaries in smartphone photography, and the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra aims to continue that legacy. On the front camera, the device is expected to feature four 50-megapixel rear cameras, including an excellent 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor with variable aperture.
Additionally, Xiaomi pointed to a creative camera grip accessory. While the Weibo post is likely to be a creative marketing ploy, Lei Jun’s post suggests that the accessory is designed to enhance the camera-like look and functionality of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The handle seems to have a special shutter that makes it even easier to take pictures.
As someone who has used its predecessor, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, I can confirm its excellent camera performance. However, the heavy design of the device made it possible to hold it with both hands in a horizontal orientation. The newly introduced camera grip for Xiaomi 13 Ultra can solve this problem by providing more comfort and convenience during long photo sessions.
Xiaomi’s passion for experimenting with its flagship Ultra series was evident when they introduced the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept. This limited edition phone allowed users to wear interchangeable lenses, including compatibility with Leica M-series lenses. While the concept phone serves as a platform to showcase technological innovations, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a mass-produced consumer smartphone.
