Budget Redmi smartphones are as popular as mid-range Note series phones. Recently, the company introduced the affordable Redmi 12C to the global market and also launched the Redmi A1 and A2 phones. It looks like the Xiaomi subsidiary is gearing up to launch a new budget phone called the Redmi 12. Evidence of the device has been spotted on US FCC and IMEI websites. While details are limited, we’ve learned a few things about the phone.

As the name suggests, the Redmi 12 could be the brand’s new budget smartphone. Although the company has not yet officially confirmed the device, it has been listed in the IMEI database, confirming the name and model number of the device as 23053RN02L. Separately, another version of the phone with model number 23053RN02Y was spotted on the FCC website.

According to official reports, Redmi 12 will be launched as a 4G smartphone with MIUI 14 pre-installed. Redmi Note 12 Pro phones based on Android 12 but still branded MIUI 14.

Furthermore, the FCC announced that the smartphone will come with a charging adapter with model number MDY-12-EA and supports 33W fast charging. We can assume that the Redmi 12 will have a battery with a capacity of at least 5000 mAh. Other features of the smartphone are still kept secret.
