Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 Lite Zoom in China at the end of April. The smartphone has officially received the Mi 10 Youth 5G in the hometown. It has never entered world markets. As the name suggests, the highlight of this device was the zoom camera. It was one of the few mid-range models with a zoom camera. It has an 8 megapixel 5x telephoto camera.
Exactly three years after its release, the company has discontinued software support for this phone. For those who don’t know, Xiaomi maintains an EOS (end of support) list on its official website. The 3-year-old Mi 10 Lite Zoom was recently added to the list, confirming the end of the brand’s official software updates.
The smartphone debuted with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. It is now installing MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The last software update was released in November 2022. We were hoping that Xiaomi would release the MIUI 14 update for this smartphone without the Android update. But unfortunately that will not happen.
Although this device has not been released outside of mainland China, in May 2020 Xiaomi launched a modified variant without a zoomed camera. This phone just got Mi 10 Lite 5G. It should also be listed on EOS next month. The two original models of the Mi 10 series, Mi 10 5G and Mi 10 Pro 5G, started to receive Android 13-based MIUI 14 as the last major software update.
