Biofire Technologies introduced a smart 9mm pistol with electronic identification system. Allows use of weapons by only one person.
How does it work
Previous attempts to create smart weapons have often been limited to installing an electromechanical locking lock that “opens” with special keys – for example, an RFID tag, smart watch, magnetic ring or other items. They all have a common drawback – they can get lost or encounter a technical malfunction.
Unlike these methods Biofire is blocked instantly if it falls into the wrong hands. It’s all about Guardian’s patented biometric engine with built-in fingerprint recognition and 3D facial recognition systems. The gun instantly “recognises” its owner and is ready to fire as soon as it is in hand.

In order for the weapon to constantly remain in combat readiness and be safe for others, it is necessary to set it “on yourself”. The manufacturer states that the possibility of multiple users is also provided.
