Samsung has added a new feature to the Galaxy S21 series that is sure to excite photography enthusiasts. With Expert RAW, which was first introduced in the Galaxy S22 series, the company finally enabled astrophotography support on the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra. With this feature, users can take stunning long exposure shots of the night sky, stars and constellations, and even view constellation positions via the app.
While the astrophotography mode was expected to appear on the Galaxy S21 and S20 series with the One UI 5.1 update, it did not. However, thanks to the latest update to Expert RAW, Galaxy S21 users who received the April 2023 update can now use this feature. In the near future, the new mode will appear on other Samsung flagships, including the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Fold devices.
To use this feature, Galaxy S21 owners need to download the latest version of Expert RAW from the Galaxy Store and make sure their phone has the latest April 2023 firmware update. However, it is important to remember that the quality of astrophotos is highly dependent on the clarity of the sky in the user’s area. This means city dwellers may not get the best results.
Along with the exciting news regarding the astrophotography feature of the Galaxy S21 series, there are also rumors that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 sooner than expected. According to sources, the company may introduce these devices as early as July 2023.
Also, CAD drawings of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 have surfaced online. The Flip 5 will feature a redesigned display cover that is sleeker and sleeker than ever before, while the Fold 5 will feature a better hinge design this time around. While details on the specs and features of these upcoming devices are scarce, Samsung fans can expect to hear more in the coming months as the rumored launch date approaches.
