AMD Ryzen Z1 and AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors bring portability and battery life to the next generation of handheld game consoles.

AMD has announced the new Ryzen Z1 series processors, the latest high-performance processors for portable PC gaming consoles. The Ryzen Z1 series is powered by two processors, Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme, delivering industry-leading gaming experience, uncompromising battery life, and graphics powered by the AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture. For this launch, AMD has partnered with Asus to introduce the first Ryzen processor. Z1 Series Device: Asus ROG Ally, a premium portable console PC that accepts a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor.

“At AMD, we’re constantly working on next-generation gaming experiences from consoles to desktops and handhelds,” said Jason Banta, corporate vice president and general manager of client OEMs at AMD. “Ryzen Z1 processors offer gamers an elite experience and exceptional portability in immersive gaming formats.”

New AMD Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors

With up to 8 cores and 16 threads, the Ryzen Z1-series processors deliver stunning graphics and, thanks to the efficiency of the “Zen 4” architecture, deliver incredible battery life for truly portable and high-performance gaming. With integrated graphics based on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture, gamers can smoothly play today’s graphics-intensive games. Users can optimize their game with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition using features such as AMD Radeon Super Resolution, Radeon Chill, Radeon Image Sharpening, AMD Link and more. These features can improve performance through higher frame rates and responsiveness, and extend battery life.

All AMD Ryzen Z1 Series processors support USB4 for fast and easy connectivity to the latest external storage and display devices, as well as the latest LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X memory standards, delivering high performance and low latency for faster gaming.

Designed for new computing models

With support for Windows 11 and other operating systems, devices based on Ryzen Z1 series processors can run all Windows 11 apps and games. gamers they will have access to hundreds of PC games through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (sold separately) and seamless entry to their game libraries. Built on x86 architecture and ready for Windows 11, Ryzen Z1 series users will also have built-in access to popular productivity software and social media. Ryzen Z1 based devices are also equipped with smart power management technology that will allow them to play well and run these applications for a long period of time.

Ryzen Z1 series devices coming soon

AMD Ryzen Z1 processors will first be available on Asus ROG Ally. Asus will provide more information on Asus ROG Ally availability and pricing on May 11th.
