Samsung now offers the longest software support for Android smartphones and tablets in all price segments. Last year, the company promised to support its devices for up to 5 years. However, previous models were limited to 4 years. Official software support has ended for several such phones and tablets.

As he reported Galaxy ClubSamsung has ended software support for the following devices.

  • Galaxy A10
  • Galaxy A20
  • Galaxy A40
  • Galaxy Tab S5e
  • Galaxy Tab A 10.1
  • Galaxy Tab A with S Pen
These products will work just fine without software support.

All of these phones and tablets were released in April 2019 or earlier. Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A40 have the March 2023 security patch. Whereas, the Galaxy A20 was stuck on the December 2023 update. These products will continue to operate despite the suspension of software support. They now run Android 11, which can run almost any app available in the Google Play Store.

Perhaps the only issues you may encounter with these devices are related to performance and battery life. While the second can be fixed by changing it, the first cannot be changed.

Also, none of them have 5G connectivity. So if your city has the latest generation of mobile network coverage, this could be another reason to upgrade to a newer phone. With that in mind, software support for many Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets will end in the coming months.
