Smartphones have become an integral part of modern daily life, bringing new advancements in technology every year. However, thanks to these additional features and various improvements, the average selling price of smartphones of certain brands has increased. Although Apple is in the first place, the average selling price of the iPhone is almost $ 1000.

Even ten years ago, $500 for a smartphone was already considered quite expensive. But now we have devices that are twice as expensive, and the Cupertino giant was the first to break the $1,000 mark with the iPhone X in 2017. Now, a new survey by CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners) shows that as of March 2023, the average retail price of the iPhone hit an all-time high of $988.

That’s pretty remarkable considering it’s more than $100 more than the iPhone’s average selling price of $882 last year. One of the aspects driving growth is the new iPhone 14 Plus model, which replaces the iPhone 13 mini variant in the latest series. The Mini model cost around $699 at launch, while the Plus model went on sale for $899. Thanks to the larger screen area, the latter also gained better acceptance in the market.

But despite this, Pro iPhone models still make up the majority of Apple’s smartphone sales. This is due to the brand’s efforts to offer exclusive features to high-end models, leading to a greater difference between vanilla and premium models. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the average selling price will soon cross the $1,000 mark.
