Last year HTC launched the Desire 22, a metaverse-focused smartphone. Now the brand has started promoting a new smartphone on the VIVERSE platform. For those who don’t know, HTC Vive brand created Viverse virtual reality concept. It is a meta-universe that offers immersive experiences and a seamless bridge to other virtual universes.

The teaser video released by HTC only partially shows the look of the upcoming smartphone and the HTC and VIVERSE brands. The brand did not directly reveal the name of its upcoming product, but the #seeUsoon title points to a U-series device. Important details of the device are also limited at the moment.

As a reminder, HTC Desire 22 Pro debuted last year with VIVERSE as the brand’s first smartphone. It was a typical mid-range phone with a Snapdragon 695 processor with 8GB of RAM, a 120Hz display and a 4520mAh battery. It included a number of VR related applications.

The future HTC VIVERSE could be the recently revealed HTC U23 Pro. A leaked live image of the phone has revealed a rectangular camera module containing three sensors, including a 108MP main lens with OIS support. The front has a center-aligned cutout with an opening.

Geekbench testing revealed that the smartphone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor combined with 12GB of RAM. It will run Android 13 out of the box. Sources and rumors suggest that the HTC U23 Pro may feature a 120Hz AMOLED display and a large battery with fast charging support. HTC U23 Pro is expected to be released next month, in June.
