It seems Motorola has learned to equip its smartphones with good cameras. DxOMark experts evaluated the camera of the new flagship Edge 40 Pro with 130 points.

The device will receive 133 points for photo quality and 135 points for video quality. This is only the 32nd overall, and the smartphone costs 900 euros, but this is a breakthrough for Motorola. For comparison, the Edge 30 Pro only scored 101 a year ago.

130 points is a result at the level of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 12 Pro Max or Huawei P40 Pro. So, smartphones that still take great pictures. At the same time, the main camera of Motorola’s new products is a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50A sensor with an optical format of 1/1.55 ​​inches, that is, far from the largest by modern standards. At most, it’s the same sensor used in the Edge 30 Pro, which means Motorola has done a very good job with the software.
