Most of the time, when watching movies on television, the dialogues are heard very quietly, while the action scenes are also heard. The sound levels are so high it even gets annoying. This forces us to always adjust the volume with the remote control. This problem can be caused by various reasons such as poor multi-channel audio conversion or incorrect audio settings on our device.

Fortunately, there are sound modes these days that try to balance dialogue, ensuring it is heard at the appropriate volume and preventing us from having to adjust the volume every time the action calms down in movies. We also have additional options to fix this problem. Google TV Streamer has a very useful option in this sense and under these lines. We explain how you can benefit from it.

How to improve dialogue audio on your Google TV Streamer?

There are various options that allow you to improve and adjust the sound on televisions with Google TV or Android TV. A while ago we told you how you can take advantage of the standard Android TV equalizer to improve the sound of dialogues. In my case, I am using a Xiaomi TV P1 television with Android TV and to enhance the dialogs I just accessed the television settings and then Device Preferences > Sound. There I selected the custom mode, which gave me access to an equalizer where I could adjust the low, mid and high frequencies.

It is recommended if the aim is to improve dialogues. boost midrange frequencies (500 Hz to 3 kHz) is where human voices reside and reduces low frequencies (20 Hz to 250 Hz) and high frequencies (6 kHz to 10 kHz). This will result in a decrease in overall sound quality as we equalize the audio in a way that highlights the vocals so the effects can appear “canned”.

Some TVs and devices even offer: A special way to improve dialoguesAs is the case with Google TV Streamer, a device with a function to improve dialogues. The benefit of this option is that it performs the synchronization we mentioned automatically, albeit slightly, by increasing the volume of the dialogues so that we can hear them more clearly.

To access this function, all you have to do is go to the settings of your Google TV Streamer and log in. Display and sound > Sound options. Here you will find the option ‘Dialogue Enhancement Setting‘. Activate the switch to enjoy its benefits. There is also an option to adjust the volume in this section, so you can also reduce the loudness of action scenes.

After enabling this option; Dialogues should be heard more clearly and strong. If the result is not what you want, you can always continue to manually adjust it from the equalizer, try another sound mode or, as a last option, buy a soundbar or an external device to have more flexibility in sound settings.
