We were recently able to talk to you about the new LG OLED television lineup that offers more brightness for 2023, HDMI 2.1 QMS, new webOS 2023 and even compatibility with Matter and more. CES 2023 provides the perfect backdrop to showcase all of the company’s innovative technologies. One of them is undoubtedly the features that the new LG Signature OLED M television offers us. I want to get rid of the cables.

This huge 97-inch television has one very special feature: both image and sound will be transmitted wirelessly to the TV. Thanks to LG Zero Connect technology, which streams the content to the television through an independent base, where we find all the connections.

Wireless design

LG Zero Connect is a feature very similar to what Samsung already offers with the One Connect, with one key difference: there will be no cables connecting directly to the TV (except TV power). The idea is that via a completely independent base (and connected to a plug), it transmits picture and sound wirelessly to the television.

They promise from LG that the content transfer between the Zero Connect base and the television will be “error-free” and will offer at least a 4K resolution and 120 Hz picture.

LG explains that we can place the junction box Up to a maximum distance of 10 meters from the TV. All sources can be transmitted to the television as long as it is connected to the current. The company has not confirmed what protocol it uses for data transfer, but everything indicates that it will be a proprietary technology.

In the Zero Connect “box” they offer us the connections that we can find on a television today, namely HDMI ports, Ethernet, USB ports, digital optical output and more.

Regarding television, we find the minimalist and aesthetic typical of the premium LG television range. With a 97-inch panel, this Smart TV offers 4K resolution, panel frequency up to 120 Hz, and OneWall support for wall-mounting, the same as what we could find on the LG OLED G3.

The firm hasn’t talked about prices or a date yet, so we’ll still have to wait for them to decide. Of course, aiming to launch second half of 2023. In addition, everyone attending the CES fair will be able to see the television first hand.
