Google has announced that it is launching a new service with a last-minute statement. Oddly enough, Google only gave the name of this new service, but the details of the features it will host are a bit confusing. You can read the related Google blog post here.

The name of Google’s new service to be activated is ‘Advanced Web Apps Fund’, ie: Advanced Web Application Fund it will be. Here’s how Google talks about this new service: “We don’t have a definitive explanation for ‘advanced apps,’ but it is possible to say that there are websites with a phone app-like interface and client functionality.”

Funds will be raised for the development of applications similar to WebTransport and File System Access

Google talks about Chrome features such as file system access, WebTransport, and WebAssembly in its blog post. What Google simply wants to achieve with the Advanced Web Applications Fund are new features, makes it easier to set up advanced sites libraries and tools and demo applications that demonstrate the uniqueness or power of advanced web applications.

Google’s blog post contains these words: “While the Chrome team is working hard to develop new features, we are only responsible for a small part of the work. Web application developers depend on countless people in the community who have built a strong ecosystem of APIs, tools, demo apps, and other material.”

As for the requirements, Google has the option to apply for the Advanced Web Apps Fund. You need an Open Collective account states. What do you think? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
