Raul Vlad Souta, one of the metal detectorists who made the find, detailed how he and his two friends found the coin treasure: “I got a short but steady signal. [на металодетекторі], and took the shovel. I noticed a small silver coin as if it had been taken out of my pocket. A few more coins appeared at a shallow depth. Following the signals took us to what looked like the neck of a ship.”.
The coins were made between 1500 and 1550 by the King of Bohemia, Hungary, and Croatia. It was printed during the reign of Ulaslo (1456-1516). According to a Facebook post, the treasure, together with the ceramic pottery, weighs about 4.5 pounds.

Treasure hunters handed over their loot to the town hall of the town of Nođorið in western Romania, complying with a law that required anyone who finds items of potential value to report them to the local town hall or museum within 72 hours of finding them. Of the thousands of coins, only four could not be identified.
