According to US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, the creation of technology parks in different states of the country will help talented people find jobs close to their homes. Currently, most of the technological growth centers in America are located in California, Seattle and Boston. This limits the development of other regions and deprives many experts of the chance to prove themselves.

• New regional technology hubs will be created in smaller cities such as Baltimore in Maryland or Birmingham in Alabama. It is these two who will test and develop promising projects in key areas such as: biotechnology, artificial intelligence and quantum computing.

Raimondo said the administration plans to allocate up to $75 million to each center next year, but most of the funding must come from private foundations. Of that amount, $500 million will come from the Chips and Science program, which was approved by Congress and received $52 billion in federal funding for U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and research to compete with China. This year, Biden also asked Congress for $4 billion in separate funding for regional tech centers. However, Congress has not yet approved the budget.
