What does Newton’s third law of motion say?

So how does this law explain the motion of rockets in space?

When the rocket engines start, the fuel burns and gas is quickly released. When this gas leaves the back of the rocket, a thrust is created in the opposite direction of the gas. The rocket thus forward is being pushed.

In other words, the rocket doesn’t need air or atmosphere, or any friction against the rocket’s thrust, to go. Created by the gases coming out of the back of the rocket, the rocket’s own propellant and the response is sufficient.
