Ozone is an unstable gas whose molecule consists of three oxygen atoms. Qing-Bing Lu, a Canadian researcher at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, says the ozone hole discovered in the tropics is seven times larger than a similar phenomenon in Antarctica.
