According to market analysis, through SamMobile, the South Korean giant originally planned to purchase 54 million LCD panels for its Smart TV division. But the portal indicates that now the company lowered the bar to 40 million units at a strategic meeting for the second half of 2022.
The reason for this reduction is low demand for TVs in the first half of this year, mainly in the markets of Europe and North America. However, this is not the only factor responsible for Samsung Electronics stop buying new LCD panels because Elec indicates that the company have sufficient inventory to maintain production for at least 16 weeks of productiontransportation, storage and distribution of TV.

This stock is higher than Samsung needs was undertaken by it in 2021, which resulted in the purchase of 10% more panels than expected to better deal with the global shortage of chips.
With inventory in excess of what it needs and with the fewest units sold, the company has already notified vendors.
