Scientists, Prof. from Selçuk University. Dr. He said that during the excavations carried out in the ancient city of Anemury, led by Mehmet Tekojak, four graves, three adults and one newborn child, were found. The remains of the latter were in a trading amphora.
First, researchers discovered the remains of a newborn boy buried in a merchant’s amphora. According to Tekojak, this is the first tomb discovered in Anemuria. Then there were the finds of three more skeletons that had been hastily buried in the ground. Presumably, these may be the remains of the child’s family.
Previously, three more skeletons (two adults and a child) were discovered at this site. According to archaeologists, these findings draw attention as the tombs are outside the necropolis of the ancient city. Tekojak noted that there may be a church at this site that archaeologists do not yet know. Or their graves were made in his garden.
