Launched into space in December 2021 James Webb Space Telescope, has managed to see the depths of space with a clarity we have not seen before. The telescope, which has enabled dozens of observations since the beginning of summer, made another striking sighting today.
In the observation shared by the European Space Agency, James Webb this time observed two galaxies colliding. This clashing duo, identified as ‘IC 1623’, 270 million light-years from Earth consists.

The two galaxies we see above have long been one of the main focuses of astronomers’ research. The two galaxies were previously imaged with the Hubble Space Telescope as follows:
According to the details shared by NASA, the collision of these two galaxies with each other exceeds the number of all the stars in the Milky Way galaxy. 20 times more stars to form it causes. The new observation could provide new insights into scientists’ research into this structure and how stars form.
