As the search for a habitable planet in the observable universe continues, scientists have made another big discovery. In new research published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics can livetwo new planets find was announced.
Two newly discovered planetsGJ 1002It is in the system of the ‘red dwarf star’. The planets, named “GJ 1002 b” and GJ 1002 c,” scientists say have similar masses to Earth and are a habitable distance from the star.
How were planets discovered?
Comparison of two discovered planets and planets in the solar system.
The two planets are in the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory.ESPRESSO‘named spectrograph and Calar Alto Observatory’CARMENESwas discovered through data from the spectrograph. The data was collected between 2017 and 2021. The data from a total of 139 spectroscopic observations enabled the discovery of the two planets.
Planets are not known to have water or life, but all signs are positive:
Scientists have yet to share whether any of the planets have water or life. However, the data obtained so far green check mark all characters shared.
Well planets 16 light years away It was shared that observations can also be made easily (on the scale of the universe) because that is why we can expect new information from the planets soon.
The total number of exoplanets discovered so far is more than 5,000.
