Vast and SpaceX are partnering to launch the Haven-1 commercial space station as early as 2025. If Haven-1 launches in 2025, the ISS will be decommissioned in a few years.
The first private space station will be launched in 2025
Paradise-1 to be launched by rocket Falcon 9, astronauts will arrive at the station on the SpaceX Crew Dragon ship. Vast founder Jed McCaleb said the company will rely on SpaceX to achieve its goals.
Commercial space stations should be as reliable as the ISS, which has been constantly populated for the past 22 years. Vast and SpaceX’s partnership is critical to Haven-1’s success, as a Falcon 9 rocket will launch the station and provide some life support systems for Haven-1’s Crew Dragon spacecraft.
SpaceX is expanding into the space industry, and the recently launched Starship has caused quite a stir, even though it was destroyed before it reached orbit. The launch of a private space station is an encouraging development.
