boss of Instagram Adam Mosseriannounced that the photos and videos of the social network feed will start to take up more space on the screen of the devices in order to use it more efficiently.

Instagram was launched on October 6, 2010. At the time, the camera and display configurations integrated into the devices it was available in were of lower resolution than those available.

The social network set out to reinvent itself as one of its most popular platforms and go hand-in-hand with the devices it’s still on. Mosseri explained on Twitter that Instagram videos are now more integrated into the homes of its users, and the content shared on it is more “immersive”.

For this reason, Mosseri announced that the company will begin to give more space and importance to the photos and videos in the broadcast to make better use of the screen. This “experiment” will take several weeks, which users will take advantage of to collect their impressions and comments.

Mosseri confirms that Instagram aims to strengthen the social network’s mobile experience by betting on a new viewing mode that could be attractive to the user, as other platforms like TikTok have already demonstrated.
