Google Time gets massive revamp: The famous little frog changes its look and embraces Material You

The suite of Android apps to which Google is credited complements the operating system we all use day in and day out. The Mountain View company provides us with sufficient tools to access its services from YouTube through utilities such as Gmail, Drive or Maps. One of these search appIt’s christened the name of the search engine that includes Google Discover and gives us information like weather.

here we see famous little frog of the time whatever heaven is at that moment, which always accompanies us in our consultations. This section has been redesigned in the web version, but it will not stay in browsers only. As we read on 9to5Google, Google Weather has finally been updated with Material designed by you.

A frog adapted to new times

It was in 2021 when Google redesigned the weather forecast part. Meanwhile, the last Material You took its first steps in company applications. But to date, this space has continued with an already somewhat outdated design, as we personally disclosed at the beginning of the year.

However, as we have seen in the specialized media, the change first three tabs this allows us to move between different time zones to refer to the forecast, which is now in a vertical format. These screens are designed with one purpose in mind: to provide a seamless overview. A large part of the screen was wasted due to an interface that was not adapted much with the already old design, so this redesign suited him very well.

As can be seen in the capture, top search bar With a pill shape to indicate the location of the current prediction, similar to what is seen in other Google apps. It also seems compatible with the system’s dark theme, so it will automatically adapt.

Just below this search bar, we see the “Now” forecast, which gives us information about the current temperature, status, and maximum and minimum temperatures, as well as wind chill. This cute frog Although this time a higher resolution image is missing, it still holds its place.

If we continue on the same screen, hourly forecast closer as forecast for the next ten days. Of course, we can get more detailed information by tapping on keywords like “Today” to see other data like sunrise and sunset or wind speed.

Currently there is no update in sight that enables this new design so we must move on Waiting for Google to decide to publish. For now, the redesign may continue to be developed internally because as we can see at the top, the status bar is not aligning properly. One way or another, as we see it or something similar, it is a move we have been waiting for for years.
