The Contacts app may be one of those apps that many users are not aware of. It’s supposed to be used only to store a phone number, but really adding additional information is most helpful (as the person’s address and Google Maps open directly to us).

Now, Google wants it to be a little more useful and for us to use it more, and so it has released an update that allows us to. add a person’s birthday or important dates directly from Contacts.

Another way to do this is to click a contact, click the pencil icon to edit and add information. After adding a birthday, you can enable a birthday notification.

Click on the person with this information and click the â‹® icon in the upper left. The drop-down menu shows: ‘Add birthday notification’ optionSelect , and you’ll get a prompt stating that reminders must be on for this to happen. You can go directly to the communication settings and enable notifications.
