Surely many of you use the option to block WhatsApp application with your fingerprint to protect your privacy, but perhaps You only want to protect certain specific chats, not the entire app.

Well, this is exactly the option WhatsApp has made official in its latest update. A feature called “Chat Lock” that we can activate it separately for each conversation we want to block without having to completely affect the entire application.

Blocking chats is officially coming to WhatsApp

One thing to consider when we enable this option on our phone is that this blocking will not affect other open sessions of the same linked account, such as WhatsApp Web. The reason for this is device biometrics is required to use this featureand it’s synonymous with fingerprint on a Xiaomi phone.

You should also know that Every chat we block will be stored in a specific section in the WhatsApp interface.i.e. unblocked chats will appear as we are used to and blocked ones will appear at the top of the screen and we will have to access them using our fingerprint.

Best of all, the way to enable this option is very simple and safe, because We will only need to follow the following steps:

• After opening the chat you want to block, tap on the part where the person or group in question is mentioned at the top of the screen.
• Scroll down and click “Block chats”
• Enable the “Lock this chat with a fingerprint” option and a warning message will appear that you must accept in order for the chat to be blocked.
