The CDN specialist Cloudflare is now expanding its services to include artificial intelligence. The Cloudflare One platform now includes generative AI, so customers can leverage the latest artificial intelligence without worrying about their data.

The SASE platform Cloudflare One is now also equipped with artificial intelligence. According to Cloudflare, the Zero Trust system allows users to build with AI without putting their data at risk.

The need

More and more companies with a large online presence are concerned about the impact of artificial intelligence on data breaches. Some Samsung employees recently inadvertently shared sensitive business information through ChatGPT.

Cloudflare recognizes that AI is far from ideal, but also says there is ultimately no “escape” from it. The company therefore emphasizes the importance of striking a good balance between growth and innovation with generative artificial intelligence while fully complying with applicable data and privacy regulations.

New function

Through the Cloudflare One platform, organizations can oversee their own artificial intelligence deployments, oversee the necessary implementations, and secure their data. Among other things, there is the Cloudflare Gateway function for this; This allows a company to keep track of how many employees are engaged in AI, and the system also provides context for budgeting and licensing.

Cloudflare One also provides tokens with three important capabilities: they provide a clear view of requests to work in the application programming interface, they allow control over specific services that have access to training data for AI, and they can be revoked with a simple click.

Another new service is Cloudflare Tunnel. This feature ensures that every request is checked against the access rules applied to services protected by Cloudflare One. Cloudflare Tunnel can also check if teams are ready to connect an AI service to their infrastructure.

In addition, Cloudflare Data Loss Prevention also offers the possibility to run a scan with AI. The system now scans for employees using artificial intelligence to verify data on credit card numbers or a national registration number. Such scans can specifically look for patterns based on a specific team’s data configuration.

Matthew Prince, co-founder of Cloudflare, concludes that while artificial intelligence poses a risk to organizations, and it is very easy to load sensitive data onto AI systems, proper security is therefore important.
