Razer Seiren V2 X and Kiyo X: We tested the Razer Kit for high quality streams

Razer sent us two of their Lives Kit products to test, Siren V2 X this Kiyo H. If you’re looking for a webcam and microphone for live streaming, it’s worth checking out this short review with tests and opinions on these devices.

Kiyo X

OUR Kiyo X is a very practical USB webcam, one of the main advantages of which is the ability to capture 60 fps (60 fps). This feature turns out to be interesting mainly for those who like to stream games, because apart from this, there is no other important aspect. Anyway, I’m already stating in advance that for those who need a camera for video calls, this gadget gives more than it needs.

As for the maximum resolution, the camera is Full HD, which can also be considered the minimum for this gadget.

In terms of design and physical features, the camera has a small flip-out stand that adapts well to the monitor and allows for easy bezel adjustment. On the same base there is a standard thread for attaching tripods, the same as in SLR cameras. These two features have become important in webcams these days, and major competing models bring this aspect as well.

The camera is beautiful, but the lines around the lens pick up dust easily and also make it difficult to clean. You can see this detail in one of the images in the gallery above, in some of the photos I cleaned the camera to better capture the moment it was just taken out of the box.

In terms of image quality, below you can see a comparison of the Razer Kiyo with three other important webcams on the market: Logitech StreamCam, Logitech C920 and PCYes.

Considerations

This is a product that is hard to find in Brazil and the price is high compared to the competition. also quality Images leaves much to be desired, mainly due to the amount of post-processing.

Siren V2 X

The Razer Seiren V2 X Condenser Microphone comes with a detachable USB cable with a USB-C connector for connecting to a device and USB-A for connecting to a computer.

In addition, it comes with a semi-articulated base with a standard microphone thread, allowing it to be used with other stands and even tripods. The microphone is not large, in the photo and video it may seem that it is larger, only 12 centimeters and 285 grams.

It contains some practical details such as a dedicated button to mute the capture sound, a volume control (wheel) and an audio output that can be used to bring back the microphone or Windows itself.

  • USB AC cable
  • hemispherical base
  • volume control
  • mute button
  • audio output

Installation and features

The microphone is plug and play, but you can install the Razer software to access microphone gain and audio volume settings.

In terms of software, the highlight is the “Analog Gain Limiter” which prevents the microphone from breaking from time to time and cannot be changed so easily by the system. You can even enable Windows enhancements in Sound Properties, but there is no guarantee that this will have the same effect.

Another highlight is the ability to control four mic inputs, which can be interesting for those who like to broadcast live, but can be a little boring for those who are minimalist and like to perform.

sound quality

The best way to decide if you are satisfied with the sound quality is to listen to recordings from different microphones and compare them with other microphones. In the video below you can see a quick comparison of the HyperX Quadcast, Solocast and Seiren V2 X microphones.

Considerations

The sound of the Razer Seiren V2 X is rich and leaves nothing to be desired when compared to competitors on the market. For broadcasters, having control over more outputs can be useful in some situations, but for those who want something simpler, it can end up getting in the way because they are automatically recognized by the system.

In addition, it is not easy to find in the Brazilian market, but it is worth finding at a lower price than the microphones mentioned here.
