The founder and chairman of the “Alliance of Democracies” foundation, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, said this on the second day of the Copenhagen Democratic Summit, which is dedicated to innovations and technologies, as reported by Ukrinform correspondent.

“The technological race, especially artificial intelligence, can be used to make our daily life much easier, much more comfortable. We all know that, but AI can also be used to control humans to suppress it. Global norms in the use of all new technologies, not just artificial intelligence. “So, it’s about winning the technological race. Therefore, we need to form an alliance of technological democracies to develop and implement a coordinated strategy. It is important to join forces to establish international norms and standards for the use of new technologies.”

He also noted that it is important to use new technologies in accordance with democratic norms and values.

Rasmussen also mentioned that Putin talks about artificial intelligence.

“Putin once said: Whoever is the leader in artificial intelligence will be the leader of the world. I completely agree, so when it comes to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, it is extremely important who really leads the world. I still believe that the West or the democracies are in the lead. “But we faced serious challenges and it’s extremely important that we win.”

As reported, the Copenhagen Democratic Summit is held on May 15-16 with the participation of leading European politicians and heads of government.
