On the “Playmarket” front, it will soon be a less popular app. Google officially announced that it plans to cover YouTube Go, an analogue of YouTube – a “light” version for owners of budget smartphones with a weak “iron” and low RAM.
The company is not revealing the exact reasons for this decision, but you can guess. Even the performance of cheap devices is improving year by year and Google has to spend a lot of resources to support the program. And functionally, YouTube Go left a lot to be desired – the reduced capabilities do not allow users to comment on, publish or edit videos. There is no dark theme in the application, which has been its “big brother” for a long time.
YouTube Go will finally leave Google Play in August this year. Alternatively, Google suggests installing the regular YouTube program or using the web version from a browser. The company claims to be working on optimization and now the video hosting program will be much more comfortable for people with budget smartphones or poor internet connection.
