With the new ISO files, you can start a clean Windows installation with the latest updates.

Microsoft provides new ISO files for Windows 11 22H2 (and Windows 10 22H2). The new disc files bring Moment 1 and Moment 2, two feature updates, to the general public. They also include the very latest patches released last week with Patch Tuesday.

The latter is important: If you want to start a pure Windows installation, you can now get started immediately after installation without having to update the computer for an hour or more. The timing is no coincidence: last week Microsoft fixed a major vulnerability in Secure Boot (CVE-2023-24932).

If you want to get started with the new ISO files for Windows 11 22H2, you can download them here using the Media Creation Tool. The file name is “Win11_22H2_Nederlands_x64v2.iso”. Windows 11 22H2 will be supported until October 14, 2025.

Users who have not yet upgraded can download the Windows 10 22H2 ISO files here. Again, you need to use Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. As with Windows 11, this ISO file contains the latest patches from the last Patch Tuesday round last week.

Like Windows 11 22H2, Windows 10 22H2 will be supported until October 14, 2025. This is the final version, Microsoft no longer provides major updates for Windows 10 and focuses on security updates. A free update to Windows 11 is still possible. As of January 31, 2023, you can no longer buy Windows 10 licenses.
