Former President of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Ecuador, Virgilio Sakisela, demanded this Wednesday Urgent opinion of the Constitutional Court on the “crucifixion” applied by conservative President Guillermo Lasso, who dissolved the Legislative Assembly and called early elections.

In addition, he recalled that It was the Constitutional Court that recognized the political trial of Lasso, in qualifying the cause of the theft for its interpellation.

For his part, Social Christian MP Esteban Torres, who was elected second vice-president of parliament last Sunday, applied to the Constitutional Court this Wednesday to apply for unconstitutionality measure applied by Lasso.

Torres also expressed hope that the court’s decision would be immediate “for give clarity, certainty (country), not only to the political sphere, not only to citizens, especially to the economy, which considered this decision abrupt and absolutely unnecessary.
