A few months ago, we heard rumors that OpenAI is working on a ChatGPT application for mobile users. Fortunately, this is no longer a rumor as OpenAI recently announced a ChatGPT app for iPhone users. However, for now, only US users can download the app on their iPhone.

ChatGPT is a free app for iOS, but you will need a Plus subscription to take advantage of the GPT-4 features. As with ChatGPT on the web, Plus subscribers will get access to new features earlier than regular iPhone users. Also, the program syncs history across all devices. In short, iPhone users get the same experience as on the web.

As highlighted by OpenAI, the ChatGPT app for iPhone has the following features:

• Instant responses: Get accurate information without scrolling through ads or multiple results.
• One-on-one advice: Look for tips on cooking, travel planning, or crafting thoughtful messages.
• Creative inspiration: generate gift ideas, plan presentations or write the perfect poem.
• Professional input: Increase productivity with feedback of ideas, summarizing notes, and technical assistance.
• Learning Opportunities: Learn new languages, modern history and more at your own pace.

OpenAI has promised to expand to markets outside the US in the coming weeks. ChatGPT app will be available “soon” for Android users as well as iPhone users.
