ChatGPT is now available in a mobile browser by visiting the provider’s website. This approach works on both Android and iOS. However, a quick search of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store reveals numerous apps claiming to be ChatGPT. Nothing could be further from the truth, they are all fake versions that can also pose a threat to your privacy or mobile device.
To clarify, owner OpenAI is launching an official app for ChatGPT. iPhone users can try it first. Unfortunately, only US users can download the app at this time. According to OpenAI, the ChatGPT mobile app will be rolled out in other countries in the coming weeks. It is not yet clear when it will be our turn.
According to OpenAI, Android users shouldn’t wait long. A tailor-made app will also be presented to them soon. However, the company is not bound by a deadline.
Until the app is officially available for iOS in the Benelux, iPhone users can continue to consult the ChatGPT mobile site. It looks a little less elegant than the app, but is just as functional.
