Twitter said that those responsible for creating these tweets will be those who care about the “moments” of the social network. Any action will be checked by employees so that there is no error. Twitter will maintain a link with information from the election period as the first result of an election search.

Applicants will have specific accounts

In addition, according to Twitter, candidates will receive a stamp with information about what position they will run for. This information will come after Twitter transitions and makes nominations available to the Higher Electoral Court (TSE). According to the social network, the profiles of presidential candidates, governors, senators and federal deputies will receive this seal.

Identification will be mandatory and automatic. The candidate cannot refuse the label. Brazil is the second country in the world where the stamps will be placed. The United States was the first country to use them.

Fighting disinformation

Twitter has not confirmed penalties for users who spread fake news. The announcement is that, in accordance with company policy, content that intimidates participation in elections or misleads them with false or misleading information may be flagged or removed by the company. Account suspension is possible in serious cases.
