If you are a user Google TasksWell, you know the point: Google’s task app has gotten a lot better lately, but it still suffers from features that don’t really stand out against the competition. The thing is, if you’re already using Google’s productivity ecosystem, including Calendar or Assistant Reminders, it’s convenient.
It’s convenient until it stops being convenient, of course. One of his main annoyances is found in wanting use the app on PCGoogle Tasks is officially only available through the sidebar in the Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Docs web apps, but not on its own like all of those or Google Keep, the notes app.
There will be those who will use it as it is and there will be those who will fall behind, but if Google doesn’t do something about it… Something serious, I think, not like what I’m going to show you now, even when it’s a fix with all the laws: a specific Google Tasks page that you can access through any web browser.
This is the Google Tasks page. Add it to your bookmarks, browser sidebar… wherever you want.
I call it a page and not a website because, as you can see, neither the access nor the URL is deceiving: it is something to improve the Google Assistant and nothing else, because Google not only does not promote this method, but rather hides it. But is fully functional… except for its layout copied into a mobile app with all its flaws.
That’s what I meant by doing something serious: in the browser it’s a total waste of space, the usability leaves something to be needed for something as simple as changing a list… There are many things that can be done for improvement, but aside from the “tricks”, it’s up to Google to hone the experience it lacks (they can learn from Microsoft in this aspect).
By the way: it is also possible access to reminders created with Google Assistant over the web: this link or this other.
However, keep in mind that the feature will be integrated with Google Tasks. This means that reminders created first with the Google Assistant and – presumably – reminders created with Google Keep will be added as pending tasks. It was not specified how long it would take to complete the change.
Either way, if you’re a heavy user of Google Tasks and the sidebar view frustrates you when it comes to organization, or you just prefer a distraction-free view to use Google Tasks, here you go.
