In early May, Microsoft began providing Bing with GPT-4 for free to users around the world. The novelty brought several updates to the search engine, but required the use of a Microsoft account. The company has now announced that users no longer need an account to use Bing with GPT-4. However the number of chats during each session will be limitedif you are not signed in to Bing with your account.

Bing with GPT-4 became available for free at the beginning of the month, but the requirement for a Microsoft account to access the new product annoyed some users. Despite this, AI competition continues to intensify, and Bing is growing at such a fast rate that servers are having trouble processing traffic. The decision to limit the number of chats for those who do not have an account should be for two reasons: the first is to encourage account creation, the second may be due to server overload.

Microsoft still wants you to create an account

For now A user without an account can start five chats per Bing session. Quantity is limited, but in any case, you get free and open access to the benefits of GPT-4 in the new and updated Bing. Keep in mind that users accessing Bing with Microsoft accounts can start 20 chats per session, which is four times more than those who don’t have an account.

Michael Schechter, Vice President of Microsoft Bing, tweeted:As some of you may have noticed, we have begun providing unauthorized access to Bing Chat. Seeing only 5 chats per session? Access your account for larger conversations“As we can see from the VP’s comment, Microsoft has extended access to Bing with GPT-4, but still encourages users to create a company account. With the ease of use of the chatbot, many users should further increase their use of Bing, intensifying competition with google.
