Since Elon Musk bought Twitter, many dissatisfied users have emerged – criticizing innovations, changes in company policy, and individual decisions by Musk himself. Therefore, there was a demand for alternative services in the market, which led to a new race: who will be the first to publish a competitive analogue of the social network?
Alternative
decentralized social network Mastodon It has been on the rise for some time against the backdrop of the first Twitter updates, but still remains a relatively niche product without significant status and demand among users.
A new social network from Twitter founder Jack Dorsey is also on the way. called blue sky and similarly it copies the interface and general meaning of twitter. Bluesky is already in testing, but is currently available by invitation only.
As it is known, Instagram plans to launch its service in June. Rumors of its development have been circulating for a long time, but we have not received any confirmation. Now even the first screenshots have been published on the Internet. You can see a user page and a news feed on them, whose design is similar to the aforementioned Twitter, Mastodon and Bluesky, but also follows the general design logic of Instagram.

According to digital media marketing expert Leah Haberman, development of the app is nearing completion. She says Meta is in talks with various creators to bring them to the platform. One of these creators briefed Haberman and named the as-yet-unnamed service “Instagram for Your Thoughts.”
Instagram is the right word in this case, as the entire platform seems to be built around the popular photo sharing social network. Like Bluesky and Mastodon, new service will be deployed, which means any user can create their own server and invite users there. At the same time, no matter what server you are on, all the others are available to you for viewing, subscribing, commenting and everything else.
The upcoming social network is also reportedly “for your thoughts”. will integrate with other platformsLike Mastodon – you’ll be able to interact with users from different services without having to constantly switch between apps. How this should work is currently unclear.
new twitter clone works with existing Instagram settings like usernames and passwords. So, if you already have an Instagram account, you can sign up and automatically sync with your existing followers. Also, bios, verification, blacklist, individual settings and more will likely be passed on.
textual messages will be limited to 500 charactersThis is less of an Instagram post, but more than the free version of Twitter.
You will be able to add links, photos and videos. Perhaps all this will somehow sync with Instagram posts.
As mentioned earlier, the new social network does not yet have a name. The codename in the meta is P92, Project 92 or Barcelona.
Of course, it’s worth waiting for the same moderation rules to apply here as with other Meta services, so Twitter-level freedom is out of the question. It will be a heavily censored service that will block users for “sensitive content”.
