AI was a big topic at the G7 summit in Japan, which was also attended by the EU and the QUAD countries.

Last weekend, the G7 (Germany, France, Italy, UK, Canada, USA and Japan) met with the European Union and the Quad strategic partnership (again Japan and USA and Australia and India) in Hiroshima, Japan. In addition to some international issues, generative artificial intelligence was also a hot topic at this diplomatic summit.

In a joint G7 statement, the seven member states acknowledged that international regulation in the field of artificial intelligence is lagging behind, despite recent economic and societal advances.

The seven also indicated that they want to work with technology companies and other relevant stakeholders to responsibly advance and implement the technology.
