The truth is that YouTube, which has existed for 18 years, has accumulated not only thousands but millions of videos during that time. Many are helpful instructional videos, while others are entertaining or informative. Often, its authors have long since ceased to manage their channels, but their work has not lost its relevance and usefulness. Also, users pay attention to long-dead bloggers, whose pages are a kind of monument to them. So they worried about the fate of all this content.

Google hastened to clarify the previously published rules. They gave basic information about future removal. The company has now updated its blog post with a new sentence: “We currently have no plans to remove accounts from YouTube videos.”

This way, users can’t worry about their favorite videos – they won’t lose access to those videos.

As a reminder, the company will automatically delete all accounts that have been inactive for two years. To keep your account active, you must sign in to a Google account or any service of the company.

Activity may include the following types of actions you take while signed in to your Google Account:

• Reading or sending e-mail.
• Using Google Drive.
• Watch videos on YouTube.
• Download the application from the Google Play Store.
• Using Google Search.
• Using Google Sign-in to sign in to third-party apps or services.
