The WZ-8 is a supersonic unmanned aerial vehicle designed for strategic aerial reconnaissance. Reconnaissance capabilities include electro-optical imaging, synthetic aperture radar, and other sensors. The drone can be armed to launch an attack.

The drone is capable of performing a range of missions, from reconnaissance of the battlefield to defeating targets. WZ-8 aircraft have speeds in excess of Mach 3, which is faster than most anti-missile missiles.

The liquid power system allows you to control fuel consumption depending on the targets. If an attack is to be made, the rocket power system will step in and provide more power. If necessary, the UAV can be disguised as a high-speed missile to shoot down aircraft carriers or aircraft.

The WZ-8 UAV cannot take off on its own, but is launched from the H-6M bomber, which reaches a certain speed and altitude, the bomber’s range is over 8,000 km. According to the manufacturer, the drone can reach hypersonic speed at a cruising altitude of 50 km.
