If you love compact PCs as much as we do, you’re in luck because the range is increasing every week. If sales of big OEM Towers have plummeted and all-in-one AIOs are extremely limited, mini-PCs are the ones that really holds the desktop segment.

Chuwi is a Chinese manufacturer that has been offering a spectacular price/function ratio for years, be it in a range of laptops, tablets or compacts. The latest version of the LarkBox X series is one of the best sellers, and for this year it changes both the external design and the internal hardware. And it’s much cheaper.

The manufacturer has replaced the Ryzen 7 3750H processor used in the last version, which is, well, a rather outdated CPU for what exists in 2023. For the update, he chose a modern platform that, without being top-of-the-line, offers a low price, low consumption and support for the latest technologies required for a modern mini-PC.

We are, of course, talking about Alder Lake-N, which Intel introduced at CES in Las Vegas to replace the Pentium and Celeron series. We’re seeing this more and more in entry-level compacts, and it’s an ideal platform for them. Chuwi chooses the cheapest processor in the line, the Intel N100 4 cores and 4 threads.

The integrated GPU is a 750Hz Intel UHD, which does not break gaming records, but it handles 4K video and can power up to three 4K/60Hz displays thanks to the included HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C ports. The device is equipped with 8mm heat pipes and a fan that accelerates heat transfer.

Let’s say the RAM is soldered on the motherboard, but in return they are 12 GB of modern LPDDR5. The storage unit is a 512GB PCIe SSD and can be upgraded. In terms of connectivity, it has what is necessary for this type of device:
