In Ukraine, the driver’s license replacement and renewal service is available in “Dia” from today.
Ukrinform reported that this was reported by the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“You can now apply for a replacement of your driver’s license with a few clicks through the app. You can both order a physical plastic document and get it in person at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as get an e-ID, which is digital only and is valid on the territory of Ukraine.” .
With the launch of this service, it has been clarified that Ukraine is the first country in Europe where you can refuse a physical driver’s license form and only receive a digital one. According to the GSC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the electronic certificate is valid throughout the territory of Ukraine.
Citizens, in order to apply for the replacement or restoration of a driver’s license in the “Operations” section, must go to the “Services” menu and click on the item “Replacement of driving license” or its icon in the context menu. select the digital driver’s license and select “Change license”. Next, you need to select the reason for changing the document.
After that, the person must confirm or indicate the registration of the place of residence; choose the type of ID: digital (e-ID) or plastic + digital (regular format); choose a service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where it will be convenient to obtain a plastic document; confirm or specify contact information; sign a statement; pay for the service.
It is stated that after the application for the replacement or restoration of the driver’s license, payment must be made within 10 minutes for the service, otherwise the application will be cancelled.
“And that’s it – track the status of the application and once done, go to the selected service center of the Ministry of Interior to get a new plastic ID. Or just wait for Diya to send push notification that the e-certificate is ready.”
It has been announced that replacing an e-license with a normal plastic driver’s license, which is also displayed in Diya and in the driver’s electronic locker, will be the same as replacing a normal driver’s license with a normal driver’s license.
According to the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a medical certificate is not required to change and renew a driver’s license during martial law in Ukraine.
“The column about the driver’s blood type can now be blank – this does not affect the validity of the document. Therefore, Diya does not have a column where you need to add a medical report to drive when ordering service,” he said.
As reported, on December 7, 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal signed a government decree allowing only the use of an electronic driver’s license without its plastic counterpart in Diya.
