Four family members were killed Tuesday in a shooting at a home in Bowie County, Texas, about 240 miles east of Dallas, the Texas County Sheriff’s Office said today.
The 18-year-old suspect barricaded himself in a mobile home for more than two hours, where gunfire broke out in the Nash area.
After negotiations with the police, the suspect turned himself in to the authorities, the Bowie Sheriff’s Department explained.
The police found four people dead in the house, who, in their opinion, are members of the same family.
Authorities received an emergency call about a man shooting at people inside the house and threatening suicide, KETK TV reported.
Police have not yet identified the victims.
The suspect, also unidentified, is being held at the county jail pending further investigation and charges.
The shooting comes just over three weeks after a Mexican suspect gunned down his neighbors, killing five Honduran citizens, including an 8-year-old boy, at a home in San Jacinto County, Texas, about 90 miles from Houston. EFE
