Samsung showcases next-generation OLED technology

Samsung Display is getting ready to showcase its advanced OLED technology at the 60th SID Display Week in Los Angeles. Organized by the Knowledge Demonstration Society, the event is known as the largest professional demonstration event in North America.

Samsung unveils the Rollable Flex, a screen that can expand up to 5 times its original length

One of the main benefits is Rollable Flex, a revolutionary display technology that has revolutionized the portability of tablets and laptops. Unlike traditional folding or sliding displays, Rollable Flex expands up to five times its original length for unprecedented scalability. Users can rotate and unfold the screen on an O-axis, making it easily portable.

The sensor OLED display is another innovative product to be presented. It integrates fingerprint and blood pressure sensors directly into the panel, eliminating the need for separate modules. This unique feature provides seamless fingerprint recognition and cardiovascular monitoring.

Flex In & Out introduces a new foldable phone concept that can fold both inwards and outwards and provides full 360 degree folding. This design makes devices lighter and thinner by eliminating the need for an external panel.

Samsung Display will also showcase the Flex Hybrid, which combines foldable and retractable device technologies, and the Slidable Flex Solo, which expands from a 13-inch tablet to a 17-inch display, offering versatile form factors.

Known for its outstanding color accuracy and image quality, QD-OLED will also stand out. This technology uses quantum dots to produce accurate colors and sets new standards for display performance.

To increase its presence in the small and medium-sized display market, Samsung Display is launching OLED Finder, a search site that allows users to find smartphones with Samsung OLED technology. It provides comprehensive information on OLED features and recommends the latest models.

Samsung Display’s participation in the SID/DSCC business conference will showcase QD-OLED 2023 developments, including IntelliSense AI technology and optimized algorithms for increased brightness and energy efficiency.

By presenting these breakthrough technologies at SID Display Week 2023, Samsung Display aims to reinforce its commitment to driving innovation in the OLED industry and shaping the future of display technology. The company has long been a leader in the display market, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to relinquish that crown anytime soon, even after news last week that TCL and Hisense claimed to dominate Samsung in the LCD TV industry.
