After introducing the two Rally Bar cameras for medium and large rooms in 2021, Logitech is now launching the Rally Bar Huddle for small meeting rooms. The smart camera is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. The solution can be used in three different configurations: connected to a fixed (mini)PC, BYOD (via USB-C) or with the Logitech Tap IP touchscreen. Logitech thus offers significantly more flexibility than with the MeetUp, the predecessor of the Huddle.
The mini PC is an option, but not necessary thanks to CollabOS. This is Logitech’s proprietary operating system and is included with every Rally Bar solution, including the Logitech Rally Bar Huddle. This makes this solution more budget-friendly, which should lower the hurdle for installing a video solution in small meeting rooms. IT teams can easily manage, configure and patch the Rally Bar Huddle via Logitech Sync. IT can also extract interesting analytics data such as usage frequency, average number of people and many other data.
Smart features
The Rally Bar Huddle supports group view, an important feature to provide a better experience for users who are not in the conference room. Instead of one image with everyone sitting in the distance, the image is split into multiple windows to give everyone a clear view.
Later this year, the Huddle will also have an AI Camera Zone, a feature that recognizes who’s really in the meeting room. If someone walks past the glass wall outside the room, it’s better to ignore it so the image stays focused on the participants who are actually in the room.
Flexibility and own designs
The Logitech Rally Bar Huddle features six built-in microphones and a 4K camera with a motorized lens hood to protect your privacy when not on video calls. Unlike the more expensive Rally Bar solutions, the Huddle only has 4x digital zoom, not optical zoom, which maintains 4K picture quality.
On the back there is space for 1x HDMI output, 1x HDMI input, 1x USB-A, 1x USB-C, RJ45 gigabit internet and the solution also supports WiFi. According to Logitech, the built-in speakers are twice as powerful as the MeetUp.
To underscore the camera’s versatility, Logitech ships the Rally Bar Huddle with an innovative stand that doubles as a wall mount and on-screen mount.
The manufacturer also offers additional covers as an option, such as the “Easy Clean Cover” for medical areas and educational institutions that regularly clean with 70% alcohol, and an “Off-White Fabric Cover” for those who also use the standard black one reference find dark. Custom prints can also be ordered from Logitech.
The Logitech Rally Bar Huddle will be available from July 2023 and has a suggested retail price of 1,999 euros.
